Border Collies Rescues - Do You Really Need to Drop Him?

Before giving up a Border Collie, think about whether it is really inevitable. After second thought, a discovery will be made that a new landlord is not a fierce Border Collie opponent, a dog is not to blame for your marriage failure and it is not such a great obstacle when it comes to moving to another state.

If a desire to abandon the Border Collie isn't connected with personal problems, but is linked with inability to handle the dog, qualified help can be sought in order to correct some behavioral problems. A trainer or a behaviorist can tell if the odd behaviors in a Border Collie are correctable.

At last, if there is no way to keep the Border Collie, a suitable adoptive home for it should be located. No one but a current owner can know what kind of new owners, what sort of living environment and equipment is required.

Border Collies Rescues - Adopting a Rescue Dog

Adopting a dog from an animal shelter or a rescue group, you get no guarantees as to how healthy or well behaved it is. Nevertheless, we run a risk of missing something very important in our lives, if we have never owned a pet.

Re-homing abandoned Borders is the task of some rescue groups that specialize in this breed. Volunteers from such groups know the Border Collies they need to re-home well and can help you handle the dog during the adjustment period. They will tell you if the Border is housebroken, how it gets along with children and pets, etc.

Such information might not be available in animal shelters. However, Border Collies are worth adopting anyway. Remember that Border Collies are one of the most devoted and loyal dog breeds.
